My elbows are really far back. Now that I lean forward more and have the weight resting on my traps, maybe I should try bending my wrists a bit more and not pushing my elbows back so far while still making sure that my wrists aren't taking more load.

"Pack" shoulders back before positive motion? The stronglifts site says definitely: "NO!" Squeeze armpits and raise chest but don't pull shoulders back.
Try to move a bit faster both up and down. Still controlled but concentrate on adding a little more velocity and pace throughout the set.
