Squats

Points to consider

  • 3x5 @ 225lb with 5 min rests
  • I think it went pretty well and previously I had failed, spanning multiple sessions, to complete this weight for 3x5 working sets.
  • Compared to the last attempt at this weight, bar speed was much better, my knees didn't slide forward nearly as much and there wasn't much grinding required

Overhead press

Points to consider

  • 5x5+ @ 80lb with 2 min and then a 4 min rest
  • successful reps: 5, 5, 5, 5, 11
  • Felt hard today :\ good thing I didn't go for more weight, but I thought after 3x5 @ 100 this weight would feel easier. I guess I was a bit tired today

Deadlift

Points to consider

  • 1x5 @ 285lb
  • Felt a bit more tired and shaky than expected after the OHP sets, but I still managed to get it done
  • had trouble trusting the hook grip today. Hmm... a sign of being tired? When grip is an issue, the whole deadlift form is affected
  • really started to have grip difficulties on the 5th rep, which I wasn't able to maintain at the top for very long
