Finally tried out power cleans in place of horizontal rows

Squats

Points to consider

  • 3x5 @ 200lb with 4/5 min rests
  • concentrated on a slightly narrower grip and not allowing my wrists (especially the left) to go into flexion; I had to continuously keep an eye on my wrist position to correct it.

Bench press

Points to consider

  • Deloaded after 3 (at least) failed attempts with 145lbs
  • 3x5 @ 130lb with 5 min rests
  • Did more than 5 reps as the weight very managable. Successful reps: 7, 6, 6

Power clean

Points to consider

  • A front vid that doesnt show the full range of motion isn't all that helpful
  • In first set, I was definitely pulling with bent arms for the first 3 reps. I got a bit better on the last 2 reps, but certainly there is a lot of room for improvement. 2nd set was a lot better
  • Once in rack position, don't bring the bar down until I stand up fully and hold the bar there for a moment. right?
  • I don't feel all that confident that I'm going from the same jumping position each time. My suspicion is that I'm jumping with the bar a bit too low on my thighs.
  • Next time I'll do 5x3 (5 sets) of power cleans with 75lb and then start trying to progress the weight
